STAFF
Below are our experienced and professional staff who are happy to help you with your veterinary needs:
Dr Martin Strong, BVSc, MACVSc (sas)
After graduation in 1993 from Sydney University he began working with Dr Robert
Zammit and had the opportunity to increase his knowledge and skills in all aspects of
small animal veterinary science with the particular interests in small animal
reproduction.  In 1997 he began working at Motto Farm Veterinary Hospital and later
that year he and his wife, Peta, became owners of the practice.

In 2001 Martin completed further study in small animal surgery and obtained his
membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Science which has enhanced his
knowledge and skills in this field.  Since then his education has continued and he has
become certified in 2007 by the University of Pennsylvania to submit Penn Hip
XRays and was accredited by AQIS in 2008 to perform pre-export examinations.  In
his leisure time he enjoys riding and training horses and playing with his German
Shepherd, Dylan.

Dr Karleah McGuire BVSc (Qld) is originally from the north coast of New
South Wales.  Karleah followed her passion to be a vet and attended the University of
Queensland where she graduated in 2007.

Since then she has practised in Queensland for 2-1/2 years and is now pursuing her
particular interest in surgery and ultrasound here with the team at Motto Farm
Veterinary Hospital.

Dr Amy Hardwick, BVSc (Syd), joined our team in April 2011.  Since
graduating from Sydney University in 2010 she has developed a keen interest in
ophthalmology and diagnostic imaging.

When she is not attending to her animal clients she enjoys surfing and playing with
her dog, Mitch
.

Melissa Cowan - Melissa joined our team in 2006 and since then has completed
her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.  When she is not looking after a variety of
sick and injured animals she enjoys taking her dogs for a day out to the beach.

Erica Oldfield - Erica was born and bred in Raymond Terrace.  After finishing
school she travelled to the Northern Territory and started her journey in Veterinary
Nursing, there in the shadows of Uluru.

The call of sunny Port Stephens was too great and she returned to her hometown
and has been working with us ever since.

In her spare time Erica loves walking her dog, Stretch and listening to Country
Music, while swinging on her hammock.

Amy Crisp completed her Veterinary Nursing qualification Level 4 in 2007 and
has become an important member of our practice.  She enjoys helping nurse our
patients back to health and back to home.

Alison Ford graduated from Kurri Kurri TAFE in 2010 as a Level 4 Nurse and
loves coming to our practice and puting her skills into practise.  Alison loves playing
with her energetic staffy, cuddling Russian blue cats and her Centralian python,
Gonzo.

Nicole Price - Nicole is the familiar face behind the counter in our Myall Street
Veterinary Surgery.  She enjoys serving her local community and assisting in their
pets' health care.  Her family includes birds, cats, dogs one husband and their
children.  Nicole is currently raising a little possum who will be released to the wild
soon.
